Immersion Course in YOG
Residential Yog Teachers Training program 200 Hours
Introduction
“Yog is a Lifestyle.” Almost everyone has heard this definition; but what does it mean? What is required to adopt this practice in our daily lives? Why adopt it at all?
Learning the true Yog lifestyle is about more than learning physical postures or breathing techniques. It is far beyond chanting. Yog is “The Art of Living.” When adopted, Yog is consciously practiced all the time. It is present in our actions... our habits... our attitudes, gestures, thoughts, emotions, feelings... basically everything. Along the way, we sleep, we wake, we eat and we relate to others and our surroundings.
Because it so all-encompassing, how we must learn Yog is also very special. The teaching of Yog is imparted from Master to Disciple, because for one to learn true Yog, the Master must not only know Yog theoretically and conceptually, they must themselves be a living embodiment of Yog, as an inspiration to future Masters. The science of Yog can only be truly acquired by experiencing it through this relationship. In India, this is why Yog Ashrams (sacred places for Yog learning) exist where students live and learn the Yog lifestyle under the able and continous guidance of a Guru. Those students will one day become Gurus themselves.
Becoming a Yog teacher, as conceived in the West, is a natural consequence for the individual who has adopte the Yog lifestyle and has a natural affinity for teaching and imparting knowledge. Although it is not necessary for someone who is interested in learning Yog to become a professional Guru, their example is often a natural inspiration for others.
In the tradition of the original Yog Ashram experience, we are conducting a special intensive Yog course where students are fully immersed into the Yog lifestyle under the guidance of a true Yog Master. He will teach by example, imparting the teaching he received from his Master in a traditional Yog environment.
